About Us
Dene Pentecostal Church
Dene Pentecostal Church is a Pentecostal church located in the heart of K’atl’odeeche First Nation in Hay River, Northwest Territories. We are affiliated with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and are part of the Alberta and Northwest Territories District.
Our church exists to share the message of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and compassionate community outreach. We are honored to serve within a largely Indigenous community while extending God’s love to everyone regardless of race, culture, or background.
Founded through the ministry of Missionary Ken Gaetz, Dene Pentecostal Church was the first of many churches established north of the 60th parallel in the Northwest Territories. This rich spiritual heritage continues today as we remain committed to reaching people with the hope and truth of the Gospel.
Our church continues to be a welcoming place where individuals and families can grow spiritually, experience God’s presence, and build meaningful relationships.
What We Believe
As a Pentecostal church affiliated with PAOC, our beliefs are centered on the Bible and the saving work of Jesus Christ.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and the final authority for Christian faith and daily living.
The Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe salvation is available to all people through grace by faith in Jesus Christ, who died and rose again for our redemption.
We believe in the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, healing, and the transforming power of God in everyday life.
Our Community
We are grateful to serve in a culturally rich Indigenous community and are committed to creating a church environment where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and loved.
No matter your story or background, there is a place for you here.
